Surrogacy in Russia

Since 8 December 2021, Russia has banned surrogacy for foreign citizens, so no more surrogacy procedures can be carried out in Russia. This law does not affect ongoing proceedings, as the law itself (already the Russian Constitution) guarantees the non-retroactivity of the law, but it is advisable to finish the proceedings in another country, given the current situation in Russia, as well as the sanctions regime imposed by the war with Ukraine.
